Deciduous dwarf vine-like shrub; grows half buried in sphagnum in bogs at low to middle elevations and wet subalpine meadows. 1-3 tiny pink flowers bloom on slender stems 10-40cm tall. Flowers in Spring; cranberries only 5-10mm, edible. Likes sun. Soil: wet.
